Indie Expo Canada is a bridge between an upscale vending event and a traditional expo. The highly anticipated inaugural event took place in Toronto at the Hyatt Regency on June 3 & 4, 2017, and was a smashing success. Indie Expo Canada is an annual two-day event; day one is power-packed with workshops and presentations, and day two is a shopping event. We also have interactive demos and nail art tutorials and a speakers panel featuring brand owners and bloggers, led by Caitlin Gladney-Hatcher of Streets Ahead Style. Indie Expo is highly focused on indie nail polish, but also features cosmetics, make-up, skin care, hand & nail care, bath & body, wax & home fragrance, and more.
Join us, and mingle with the brand owners and product designers, be the first to see trending products and new product launches. Browse and shop their products in person. Take part in workshops and demos, meet and greets, and Q&A sessions with top bloggers and Youtube vloggers, connect with brands and media and industry experts on all things beauty.
The indie nail polish business is relatively new in the big picture with its market debut just over 8 years ago, but it is growing exponentially. I want to cater to that, but expand the reach outside of our usual target market. My goal is to offer some insight to some of the smaller brands who have maxed out their potential because they have reached their own comfort level and don't even realize the enormous industry that is out there. And for those who have been in the business for a while, there will be lots of B2B networking and wholesale account possibilities. I feel that we as Indie brands have saturated the market we reside in (the on-line community) but there is a huge world out there just waiting to be conquered.
Past large scale vending events that I have attended have been successful in terms of their purpose of selling, but there is a much greater opportunity there to expand the market, connect business owners, media etc. Especially here in Canada where so little can happen in that way, and since the vast majority of these businesses operate solely on e-commerce platforms, these shows are valuable for making connections and expanding that into bricks and mortar wholesale accounts.
We have power packed weekend lined up, with interactive nail art tutorial tables for customers, and workshops by licenced nail techs for customers as well as cosmetology students and spa and salon owners, demonstrating the hottest trends in nail art and featuring the products from the vendors. Mingle with your favourite maker or bloggers and get your photo taken at the photo booth! We have amazing swag bags for VIP ticket holders, and a fantastic fund raising component. The 2019 recipient of 100% of the proceeds will be announced soon. Please see the Paint it Forward page for details on this exciting charitable component.
